A fireplace is a key focal point in any home. We design state-of-the-art fireplaces that embody a balance of nature, class, and elegance. Contemporary fireplaces really stand out, and they set the tone for the rest of your family room. Typically the wall around the fireplace is surrounded with nice stone or veneer, and there are many mantle options as well. Our masons install all of the available types of fireplaces. We can build traditional fireplaces, with your choice of stone or brick. There are also wood fire inserts, where you make the fire with wood or pellets, but through electricity, the heat gets pumped into the room. Gas and propane inserts consist of artificial gas logs, that you can turn on or off and adjust the flame.
Electric fireplaces work in a similar fashion to the propane inserts, except the flame is behind a glass. The advantage to electric is that no chimney is required. With electric there are several customizable options, as you can put them midway up a wall, and you have more freedom to put them anywhere in your home, such as a kitchen, dining room, or bedroom.
For Chimneys, we do offer traditional red brick chimneys, but the growing trend is in authentic masonry fireplaces. Stone chimneys add a strong sense of character to that whole side of the house, and really contribute to giving the whole house a distinguished look.

We also service chimney repairs. Brick Repointing is needed when clay brick is crumbling from moisture damage or old age. Pointing involves grinding into the brick and applying new mortar, to strengthen the brick and prevent further deterioration. If the brick damage is more severe, than that could require a partial chimney rebuild, a roofline up rebuild, or a complete rebuild. On the inside of the chimney, cylindrical liners, made of stainless steel or aluminum, protect the chimney bricks and concrete from the high heat and smoke. Chimney liners should be replaced every 10-15 years.
Outdoor Fireplace New Canaan CT
Outdoor Fireplaces are growing in popularity, with several different options. The new age stone fireplaces are freestanding constructions, with chimneys, and a section to store firewood. These are often made as a key focal point within a stone patio or poolscape. Outdoor fires are a great way to stay warm outside, and bring an extra nature element to your backyard experience. Fire pits are great if you are having big gatherings and you want a bigger bon fire. These can be raised or in the ground, and the stone around it can make it an aesthetic highlight of your yard.
For gas fires outdoors, patios look exceptional with a raised table of gas logs. This enables several people to sit around it and enjoy the fire experience without the smoke. Electric fireplaces are typically embedded inside a stone or veneer wall. This could be an outside wall of the house, or a freestanding wall. These are very sleek and easy to use. Any of these options will add to the character of your home, and add to the ambiance of your nightly outdoor experience.
